Things That Can Make Your Dental Hygienist Angry
While your dental hygienist sits in his office to deal with your teeth no matter what condition they are in, they rarely want to deal with the issues which can occur due to your lack of interest in the oral hygiene. Your dental hygienist is going to want to make sure that your smile stays healthy. In turn, you are going to have to make sure that you take care of your smile in the way your hygienist wants you to.
In this article, we are going to discuss about the habits that you absolutely need to avoid in order to stay on the good side of your dental hygienist.
Not flossing
The reason I am not mentioning brushing is that everyone brushes their teeth. Flossing, on the other hand, is the most overlooked oral hygiene practice. It is quite an irony that most of the people think that flossing is not something quite important. If you are not flossing your teeth, the food debris is allowed to sit between the teeth for weeks. And that debris doesn’t remain like this during that duration. Flossing is an excellent way of cleaning the interdental spaces and reducing the risk of tooth decay, cavities and gum disease for good. The first few weeks after starting flossing may not be easy but it will get easier with the passage of time.

Not opening your mouth wide enough
Keeping the mouth wide open during the cleaning session can be difficult but it is something you are going to have to do no matter what. Hygienists need to see every corner of your oral cavity, and they may not be able to do it if you are not keeping your mouth wide open. If your hygienist asks to open your mouth wide, it means that they are finding it difficult to clean your teeth.
Not brushing your teeth before appointment
This one is pretty obvious. You need to brush your teeth before you go to your hygienist. If you are going to the hygienist with a film of plaque on your teeth, your hygienist is not going to like it. on the day of dental appointment, you need to avoid consuming foods like onions and garlic in order to prevent stink in your breath.
Not taking the advice seriously
Based on the diagnosis of your oral cavity, your hygienist is going to give you suggestions about how you can maintain your oral hygiene. They are also going to tell you about the risk or existence of certain oral health conditions. All you have to do is to take their advice seriously and act upon that advice.
